Opening Events at Villa Griffone
  • "Marconi Nobel", one-act play, with Valentina Grasso, Davide Lora and Filippo Pagotto, written by Mario Giorgi and directed by Angela Malfitano.
  • Award of the scholarships for telecommunication research, organised by the Lions Club of Bologna, the Rhine Valley G.Marconi Association of Bologna and the Lions Club Minerva of Minerbio. Performance Prize award, 2nd edition.
  • Brief introduction to a musical dedicated to the great scientist.
  • Final toast.
Organised by the Sasso Marconi Pro Loco (Local Organisation) and the Marconi Foundation.

Sunday, May 10th

Party at the Colle Ameno Village (Borgo di Colle Ameno).
Radio picnic with radio amateurs, handicraft and food&wine market, associations' stands, guided tour of the village
  • Presentation of the www.sassomarconifoto.it website with new pages dedicated to the Italian squares and streets named after Marconi, organised with the help of ANCI.
  • A Sunday afternoon back in the Seventies, music and songs performed by Franco Paradise and Claudia Raganella.
Organised by the Association for the G.Marconi Twinning.
Guided tour of the Marconi Museum and the Mausoleum , organised by the Marconi Foundation, at Villa Griffone.

A story of Telecommunication Engineering in Italy: from Meucci to Marconi, in the Salone delle Decorazioni (Decorations Hall) at Colle Ameno Village
A conference open to the schools and the public fond of telecommunications history, organised by the Meucci Foundation, the Marconi Foundation and the Town of Sasso Marconi.
  • Virginio Cantoni (Pavia University) presents a series of books by CoPi on the history of technology in Italy.
  • Comunicare a distanza, un talento tutto italiano (Distance communication, an Italian talent), by Giuseppe Pelosi (Florence University).
  • Projection of the docu-drama film Antonio Meucci, genio fiorentino (Antonio Meucci, a genius from Florence) with the participation of the author Carlo Quinterio.
  • Operazione Salvan (Operation Salvan), by Marilena Fabbri (Mayor of Sasso Marconi).

Opening of the new roundabout at the town entrance, at Viale Kennedy (Kennedy Blvd).
The work of the sculptors Nicola Zamboni and Sara Bolzani proves Marconi strong bonds with the places of his first discoveries.
